About TrendBoard
TrendBoard follows the public trending lists of 11 platforms — GitHub, Hacker News, Google Trends, Hugging Face, Product Hunt, YouTube, Steam, App Store, Spotify, DEV Community, Lobsters — and keeps a snapshot of every list each time it is checked. That history powers rank changes, per-item charts and one cross-platform ranking.
How the score works
For an item on a list within a time window (24 hours, 7 days or 30 days):
quality Q = average p over every check
staying P = checks the item was listed ÷ checks of that list
echo E = 1 + 0.25 × other platforms linking the same URL
score = 1000 × Q × √P × E
The square root rewards staying power without letting a long-running entry drown a fresh #1. The echo factor favours things that trend on several platforms at once, such as a GitHub repository that also hits the Hacker News front page.
